How to get to the university?

 

Arrival / Map of Campus

 

The conference takes place in the main building of the university (Schloss) and various university buildings in the city centre of Münster

In detail, sessions are hold in at these places

  • Hörsaalgebäude H1 (Plenary), Schlossplatz 46, (bus stop Landgericht or Schlossplatz)
  • Vom-Stein-Haus, Schlossplatz 34 (bus stop Landgericht or Schlossplatz)
  • Schloss, Schlossplatz 2 (bus stop Landgericht or Schlossplatz)
  • Fürstenberghaus (Conference office), Domplatz 20-22 (bus stop Domplatz or Aegidiimarkt/LWL-Museum)
  • Juridicum, Universitätsstraße 14 (bus stop Krummer Timpen)

Please note, that due to the central location of the conference venues, all buildings are in walking distance and can be reached easily via public transportation.

Sufficient parking space during the conference is offered by the commercial parking lot Schlossplatz (see directions).

 

Conference Ticket

All participants will receive a ticket for public transport. Your name-tag in combination with the conference ticket will authorize you to use all busses and trains in Münster from 27 March to 31 March 2017.

Arrival by Car

You can reach Münster directly via Autobahn A1 and A43. Driving from Frankfurt a. M., Hamburg or Amsterdam to Münster takes about 3h, driving from Berlin about 5h.

It is recommended to use the parking at your accommodation and public transportation.

 

Directions to parking Schlossplatz (ca. 10€/day):

From North:

On Autobahn A1 take Exit/Ausfahrt Münster-Nord (77) in direction Münster, Gronau, Steinfurt, Havixbeck keep left on Bundesstraße B54 in direction Münster.

Follow Bundesstraße B54 for 3,5 km (Steinfurter Straße) until you see Schlossplatz on the right. After 500 m you can turn right onto the public parking.

From South:

Take either Autobahn A1 or Autobahn A43.

From Autobahn A1 exit right at Autobahnkreuz Münster-Süd (78) and follow Bundesstraße B51 direction Münster, Warendorf.

From Autobahn A43 just go through until it turns into Bundesstraße B51 direction Münster, Warendorf.

In both cases the Bundesstraße B219 leads straight into the city. You are now on Sie Weseler Straße. The street will turn into Am Stadtgrabe after passing the Aasee (lake). Follow the street and you will see Gymnasium Paulinum and Landgericht on the left.

Turn left on the next traffic lights onto Gerichtsstraße and take the first gateway the right onto the public parking Schlossplatz.

 

Arrival by Train

Take train to Münster main station/Hauptbahnhof.
From Hauptbahnhof Münster you can reach the conference office (Fürstenberghaus) by bus or by foot (about 20 min. walking distance).

 

Please consider the offer of Deutsche Bahn.

 

Münster offers a very good transport infrastructure and buses commute at peak times every 10 minutes (see also conference ticket).

The Hörsaalgebäude (H1), Schloss, and Vom-Stein-Haus are all located at Schlossplatz and can be reached via the bus stops Schlossplatz and Landgericht erreicht. The conference office is close to the bus stop Haltestelle Domplatz.

  • Take Line 1 from Hauptbahnhof Münster (Stop B1) direction Roxel to Schlossplatz (also stops at Domplatz).
  • Take Line 12 from Hauptbahnhof Münster (Stop B1) direction Gievenbeck Rüschhausweg to Landgericht (also stops at Domplatz).
  • Take Line 13 from Hauptbahnhof Münster (Stop B1) direction Technologiepark to Landgericht (also stops at Domplatz).
  • Take Line 11 from Hauptbahnhof Münster (Stop C1) direction Gievenbeck Diekmannstr. to Landgericht (also stops at Domplatz).
  • Take Line 22 from Hauptbahnhof Münster (Stop C1) direction Gievenbeck Heekweg to Landgericht (also stops at Domplatz).

 

As well you can rent a bike at the Radstation Münster (https://www.radstation.de/de/home/4_1.html) outside of the station and close to the bus stops. The distance to the Schloss is about 2.5 km. A bike can be rented for about 8€/day.

 

Arrival by Plane

Münster can be reached via the airport Münster-Osnabrück (FMO). From there it takes about 30 minutes by taxi or bus to the venue.

For international travels we recommend in addition the Airport Düsseldorf (DUS), with a train connection of about 1.5h to Münster.
